New easy trend spotting with Google Analytics

07 Sep 2016

Google have just made it easier for you spot trends in your Google Analytics with iOS and Android. The desktop version of this feature is to follow.

This new feature is already live and available if you use the Google Analytics app for iOS and Android. Look for the “Assistant” screen and you will see the new automatically generated insights cards.

Just as an example; if your website has a sudden jump in new users, the insight cards will not only display them but where they came from too. If you sell online, it will display which products have the biggest jump in sales.

This is a bit of a re-think on how Google Analytics data is displayed and makes it a lot easier for you to sift through the mass of already captured data – after all not all of us have teams of analysts.

The system is to get smarter and better in due course. A simple “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” feature on each insight card allows you to tell them if was useful. Their team is also looking at whether or not you’re sharing insight cards to determine what’s working and what’s not.
